The
following is a graph that will allow you to plot your team's likely finish based
on their recent form.
This
graph has been created by taking the average number of points attained for each
finishing place in the table over the past 11 years.

Of
course it doesnt require a rocket scientist to figure out that if your team has
played 20 games and they're currently 12th then they're probably finish about
12th. But with the aid of this graph you can check how their current form may
significantly alter their final position.
To demonstrate, have a look
at this Tranmere example:

Between games 30 and 35, Tranmere were clearly heading for relegation and
a finish around 22nd in the table. From games 36 to 39 Tranmere could have finished
just outside the playoffs had they achieved continued their winning run and gained
the full 72 points to the end of the season.
